    @anonymous I guess it’s stubby which correct

    that was me…
    so as per cisco.com:
    Stub: No Type 5 AS-external LSA allowed
    Totally Stub: No Type 3, 4 or 5 LSAs allowed except the default summary route
    I am no OSPF expert, but I do not think we need LSA types 3 and 4 to just pass a default route, that’s why going 4 Totally Stubby

    that said… if we want to pass the RIP on AREA 100 advertisement to AREA 1… then it’s NSSA “C”… coin toss here

    After an acquisition, the new network is terminated into the router at Branch-1 .An engineer has been asked to propose a simplified OSPF routing design that limits routes advertised to the branches .Which type of OSPF area does the engineer implement for Branch-1 that meets this objective and allows for redistribution of the RIP domain? A. Normal area B. Not-so-stubby area. C. totally stubby area. D. stubby area

  7. CV
    February 22nd, 2020

    209 is NSSA for sure, the only OSPF stub that allows for redistribution… considering how they nicely ask in this case that we support redistribution; which they do not in 83… them 83 seems to be Tottally Stubby… which is the most restrictive that only allows for Default

    Core Issue
    The router should be configured with minimum configuration for either the Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) dense mode or the PIM sparse mode, to ensure that multicast traffic is switched through the router.

    Resolution
    Perform these configurations to enable multicast routing on a router:

    Issue the ip multicast-routing command globally on the router.
    Enable PIM sparse or dense mode, by issuing the ip pim sparse-dense-mode command on all the multicast interfaces.
    In the case of sparse mode, a Rendezvous Point (RP) is to be configured. These are options to configure the RP in PIM sparse mode multicast networks:
    Configure a static RP address by issuing the ip pim rp-address command. This method is not scalable, and is recommended only in very small, simple networks.
    Auto-RP utilizes the sparse-dense mode, which allows a group to be treated in sparse mode if an RP is known. If an RP is not known, then the group defaults to dense mode. RP information is conveyed to the routers by the Auto-RP mechanism, which uses two well known groups: 224.0.1.39 and 224.0.1.40. The advantage of this is that any change to the RP designation needs to be configured only on the RP routers, and not on the leaf routers, as in the static configuration.
